Coffee & Donuts 10/29: P. DeMaria, J.Lovett                   Time Change “Fall Back” Sunday, October 29th

Dear parents and parishioners,

In church you will find a current roster of bingo volunteers. You will notice that there are several blanks indicating a need for workers for various areas of the bingo game. Please take the time to review these rosters. If you have time available to volunteer on one of these Sundays please place your name and number in the blank spot and return it to the school office, or give it to Leo Thurn after attending church.

I would also like to take the time to personally thank all that are currently helping with the bingo commitment, and those who have helped in the past.  Although the bingo revenue is down at this time it is an important Parish and School function to assist with those in need of tuition assistance here at St. Mary’s Parish. The continuing education of our children in the Catholic Faith is becoming more costly, and there are those in need of assistance to continue with the Catholic Education of “Our” children. I use the word “Our” because I feel it is important that all of the children of St. Mary’s Parish have the opportunity to be educated in a school as excellent as St. Mary’s.

Again, thank you for taking the time to review these rosters and if you have the time to commit to work please return this form immediately. I would also like to note that we have discussed changing the starting time for our parish bingo to 6:30 pm. This would allow both our workers and our players to arrive home earlier each night of bingo. I do not anticipate this change for another month or two if we do this, but I feel it is important for all that may be willing to make a commitment, and those that are currently committed to the bingo, to have knowledge that there may be a change to the bingo times.

Sincerely,

Richard A. Hilsheimer II

St. Mary’s Bingo Manager

4-S Club Ladies Auxiliary Dinner is Sunday, October 22nd from 12 Noon to 4:00 p.m. at the 4-s Club 281 E. Whittier St. Spaghetti with meatballs, salad, roll & butter, dessert. Cost is $7.00; carry-out is available.

Special Ticket Sale: Aaron Diehl, on of our school alumni, and a nationally acclaimed Jazz Pianist, is coming to town to help out today’s St. Mary School students. He will give a benefit concert at the Riffe Center on Friday, November 10 at 7:30. Stop in the rectory after the first and last masses next weekend for a little wine and cheese, and bring your checkbook. Tickets will be on sale for $50.00. They will also be available in the gym during the usual Sunday coffee klatch. Can’t stop in? Call Father Thomas, or the school at 444-8994 to order tickets. We want to be sure our own parishioners get to go to the concert before the public snatches all the tickets up.

Windshields Rule: It is against diocesan policy to place any political materials on cars on our property.

Young-at-Heart will make their last trip of this year to St. Francis Center, McArthur, Ohio on Monday, November 6th. Needed items: toilet tissue and soap products which may be left in the container at the rear of church.

High School Students: The St. Mary’s High School Youth Group for grades 9-12 will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday the 29th for a pizza dinner, some discussion and planning, a little prayer, and some socializing. Please come to the parish office building and bring friends if you wish. They will gather in the Atrium. Future activities include: November 11 live bands in the gym at 6:00 p.m.; November 19 and December 10, pizza in the rectory at 4:30 p.m. and free transportation to the Jesus Jam at St. Agatha. Please ask your parents if they would like to donate a small door prize for the November 11 band concert – something like a fast food certificate or small gift card. Finally, your friends from other churches are invited to all activities except the ones that require St. Mary’s to provide transportation.
