church or call the parish office. ECO –schedule: Weekly November 20,
& 27; bi-weekly November 20; Monthly November 1st or 15th.
If you will be unable to fulfill your
scheduled ministry please get a substitute. Please contact Jason Shanks if
there will be a change in your ministry.
Vocalists who would
like to participate in Christmas services are needed. Midnight Mass/Christmas Day service rehearsals
will begin November 29th. All voices are welcome. Male voices are
particularly needed.
Children who are
interested in singing at the 5:00 Christmas
Eve or 10:30 Christmas
day service are needed as well. See Teresa Monds if interested in the
Christmas Eve service and Joy Seipp if interested in singing Christmas Day.
The Bells
of St. Mary Handbell Choir is looking for Ringers for Midnight Mass.
You do not need to be able to read music to ring, just the desire to have fun and

St. Andrew Dun-Lac - Through the missionary efforts
of various religious families beginning in the sixteenth century and continuing
until 1866, the Vietnamese people heard the message of the gospel, and many
accepted it despite persecution and even death. On June 19, 1988, Pope John Paul II canonized 117
persons martyred in the eighteenth century. Among these were ninety-six
Vietnamese, eleven missionaries born in Spain and belonging to the Order of
Preachers, and ten French missionaries belonging to the Paris Foreign Mission
Society. Among these saints are eight Spanish and French bishops, fifty priests
(thirteen European and thirty-seven Vietnamese), and fifty-nine lay people.
These martyrs gave their lives not only for the Church but for their country as
well. They showed that they wanted the gospel of Christ to take root in their
people and contribute to the good of their homeland. On June
1, 1989, these
holy martyrs were inscribed in the liturgical calendar of the UniversalChurch on November 24th.Taken from CatholicOnline
St. Mary’s has relics of Saints in the
Southeast alcove of the church. While visiting these relics you may wish to
write the name of a loved one who has died. We will remember and pray for them
this November.
St. Therese’s Retreat Center in Columbus is
sponsoring a “24 Hour Advent Retreat”, December 8th & 9th.The
title of the retreat is: Deepening our Longing for God. Fr. Jack Dister, S.J.
will be the presenter for this special time. It begins with supper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening and will
conclude after Mass and supper on Saturday evening. Cost is $75.00. Call the

The Feast of Mary, Mother of God is not a day of
obligation this year but we will have a Mass on January 1st at 12:00Noon

the people closest to you.”November has been designated as Family Month and November 19-25 as National Family Week. The Family Life Office encourages you to be
mindful of the precious gift of family as you gather in celebration with
extended family for Thanksgiving as well as during your everyday moments
together.
Can you fulfill a Christmas wish? St. Mary's annual
Adopt-a-Family "wish lists" will be available at every Mass on November
18 & 19, and gifts will be collected December 3 & 4.
Donations will be accepted to purchase grocery gift cards. Several of our St.

High School Students: Future activities include: November 19 and December 10, pizza in the
rectory at 4:30
p.m. and free transportation
to the Jesus Jam at St. Agatha. Your friends from other churches are invited to
all activities except the ones that require St. Mary’s to provide
transportation.
Knights of Columbus #5429 will have a Thanksgiving Eve Men’s Gathering at St. Mary’s
School Gym Wednesday, November 22 from 6:30 until Midnight (or so). Fun Food, fellowship and a beverage or two! Evening raffle
and an occasional split the pot. Cost is $15.00 at the door. Please come and
join us.
