If you are admitted to a hospital St. Mary’s may not be notified. Please give us a call if you would like a visit. Due to privacy issues no one will be listed in the bulletin sick list unless the person themselves or an immediate family member requests it.

ECO (Electric Contributions Option) Program is always open for new sign-ups. See the information at the rear of church or call the parish office. ECO –schedule: Weekly November 27, December 4, 11, 18, 26; bi-weekly December 4; Monthly December 1st or 15th. Christmas Day Contribution December 26th.

Vocalists who would like to participate in Christmas services are needed. Midnight Mass/Christmas Day service rehearsals will begin November 29th.  All voices are welcome. Male voices are particularly needed.

Children who are interested in singing at the 5:00 Christmas Eve or 10:30 Christmas day service are needed as well.  See Teresa Monds if interested in the Christmas Eve service and Joy Seipp if interested in singing Christmas Day.

The Bells of St. Mary Handbell Choir is looking for Ringers for Midnight Mass. You do not need to be able to read music to ring, just the desire to have fun and play a musical instrument. Please contact Amanda Walker at awalker40@aol.com or 325.1758.

St. Mary Christmas Cards will be sold in packs of 10 for $10.00. These cards are of our Nativity Set. Cards may be purchased in the parish office during office hours, Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Congratulations to our Stella Niagara Franciscan sisters who celebrated 60th anniversaries: Sister Julia Fala; Sister Alberta Winters; Sister Susanne Humpe; the Sisters are based at St. Leo Convent. We also congratulate Sister Assunta Ghilioni who celebrated 50 years and is a substitute teacher in our school.

Get into the Holiday Spirit! Come hear the Columbus Maennerchor choir annual Christmas concert at St. Mary’s December 3, 2006 at 2pm.  The St. Mary's bell choir will perform as well.  Admission is free.    

St. Mary’s recently received $1,750.00 in Grants from the Columbus Foundation. When you set up Memorial Funds and other Bequests many benefit.

St. Therese’s Retreat Center in Columbus is sponsoring a “24 Hour Advent Retreat”, December 8th & 9th.The title of the retreat is: Deepening our Longing for God. Fr. Jack Dister, S.J. will be the presenter for this special time. It begins with supper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening and will conclude after Mass and supper on Saturday evening. Cost is $75.00. Call the retreat center at 614-886-1611 for further information and reservations.

December 23-24 -Fourth Sunday of Advent: Regular Mass Schedule 4:00 p.m - 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

December 24th -Christmas Eve: 5:00 p.m. and the traditional Midnight Mass

December 25th - Christmas Day: 10:30 a.m.

The Feast of Mary, Mother of God is not a day of obligation this year but we will have a Mass on January 1st at 12:00 Noon

High School Students: December activities of our Youth Group include:

·       December 2 after 4:00 p.m. mass – pizza in the rectory and a visit to the lights at the Columbus Zoo. The cost is $5.00 includes everything. BUT YOU MUST MAKE RESERVATIONS BY CALLING 445-9668.

·       December 3 – Youth Group meets at 6:00 p.m. in the atrium?

·       December 9 – Youth Group invited to help with tree sale

·       December 10 – pizza at 4:30 in the rectory followed by free transportation to the Jesus Jam at St. Agatha Church

·       December 17 – youth Group meets at 6:00 p.m. in the atrium?

PARENTS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: If you can help chaperone or drive for youth Group activities, please call Father Thomas or Jason Shanks at 445-9668.

Wednesday, November 29th The Parent/Family Network sponsored by the Office of Social Concerns Catholic Diocese of Columbus will present Mary Fristad, Ph.D “Behavior Issues Across the Spectrum”. The presentation will be in St. Mary’s gym from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All are welcome.

St. Mary Annual Christmas Tree Sale continues through December 23rd featuring fresh top quality Douglas Fir, Fraser Fir, Scotch Pine, White Pine and Blue Spruce trees, wreathes and roping M-F 2:30-9:30pm, Sat. Noon-9pm, Sun. Noon-6pm. Visa and MasterCard accepted with proper ID.
