New Year’s Day.

Welcoming Christ in the Migrant
National Migration Week
‘Lord, when
did we see you a stranger … and not minister to your needs?’ He will answer
them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you
did not do for me.’ (Mt. 25: 44-45)
Our Catholic Teaching:
We live in an age when strangers
in our midst have become a source of suspicion and fear. However, Jesus’
command for us to welcome these strangers as we would welcome Him is unchanging:
we are obliged to welcome the stranger with love, knowing that “perfect love casts
out all fear”. (1 John 4:18)
