More Temporary Schedule Changes:
- There is no noon mass on Tuesday October 23rd
due to a clergy conference with Bishop Campbell at the Josephinum.
- November 1 will see
three masses: at 8:15, noon, and 7:00.
- There will be no noon mass on November 14th,
but there will be a 9:45 school mass that day.
- There will be no
confessions on Monday, November 12th.

Anointing Of The Sick: The Sacrament of the Anointing of
the Sick will be administered after all the masses on November 3 and 4.
All Saints and All Souls Masses: Mass on All Saints Day will be
celebrated at 8:15, 12:00 and 7:00. Mass on All Souls Day will be
celebrated at 12:00. All are invited to write names of deceased loved ones in
the book of prayer near the main door of the church. Father Thomas will carry
the book to the altar when Mass begins those days.
Reminder: The Columbus Marathon is Sunday
October 21st before and during our 9:00 a.m. Mass.You might consider taking alternate routes (Livingston to Mohawk to access the Church
parking lot.)

FROM FATHER THOMAS: Our current bingo volunteers need
to be joined by some more folks if we are to continue the games. Bingo
netted about $50,000 for our parish last year. If you can give about two
hours a month on Sunday evening, please call our church office at
445-9668. Without bingo last year, our budget would have been about
$52,000 in the red.
The Fall Jordan Conference will be held Tuesday, October 23rd
at 7:00 p.m. Please call the parish office to register.
Volunteer
for Service Saturday October 27 from 9am until 3:00pm. In conjunction with Ohio’s Make a Difference Day,
volunteers will help work on house projects throughout central Ohio for the elderly and most vulnerable
among us. We will meet at St. Mary’s between 8:30 and 9:00 AM for training and assignments.
Lunch will be provided at your work site. Can’t volunteer? Tax deductible
gifts to St. Mary’s (indicate Service Saturday in the memo section): all money

Bring your own cookie
dough! A community baking party will be held in the school
cafeteria at 10:00am on Sunday, October 28th. We will work together to bake 150 dozen
chocolate chip cookies for the Kairos Prison Ministry. Everyone is
welcome! Cookie sheets will be provided; please bring chocolate chip cookie
dough balls from Sam’s Club or GFS, apron, pot holders and a spatula. Can’t
join us? Donations of cookie dough are most welcome. Call Cecelia Reis at

“Let there be Light:Visions of a New Heaven and a New Earth”
will be presented at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 386 Buttles Ave.,
Columbus, on Sunday, October 28 at 3 p.m. Under the direction of Phil Adams,
director of music ministry, and accompanied by Andrew Willis, parish organist,
the St. Francis of Assisi Choir will perform selections by Phil Adams, William
Byrd, Stephen Hatfield, Felix Mendelssohn and Thomas Luis de Victoria, as well
as selected choruses from Handel’s Messiah. The concert is free and open to the
public.A reception will follow.
St. Mary
Groveport 57th annual
Smorgasbord will be Sunday, October 21st from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00
p.m. at the parish 5684 Groveport Rd. Adults $7.00 children $4.00. Also
featuring raffles, and a craft tent.
Windshield Rule: It is against diocesan policy to place any political materials on cars
on our property.
St. Ladislas Church on the southside of Columbus will celebrate their 100th anniversary
in 2008. We are in the process of collecting names and notifying past
students, parishioners, teachers and religious affiliates to include in our
parish directory to be distributed next year at the festivities.

Young-at-Heart will make their Fall trip to St.FrancisCenter, McArthur, Ohio on Monday, October 22nd. Needed items: toilet tissue and soap
products, winter clothing: sweaters, jackets, jeans, etc., please do not bring
summer clothing. Items may be left in the container at the main entrance of
church.
Pumpkin Pickin’: All youth in grades 7th-12th
should make reservations for our trip to Circle S Farms on Sunday, October 28th.
We will leave at 4:30 to enjoy a hayride and pick a pumpkin. We will return to
St. Mary’s for pizza and dessert. The cost
is $5.00. Permission slips from the back of church must be turned in by
October 21.

Respect Life!!! In Luke 1:44 God uses the Greek word “brephos” to describe how the as-yet unborn
John the Baptist “leaped in the womb for joy” while in the presence of the
unborn Christ. In the very next chapter the same word “brephos” is used to
describe the already born baby Jesus (Luke 2:12). God sees them as
babies, whether born or unborn, with all the God-given human dignity and the
same right to life afforded to adults.
