Not sure if you are registered at St. Mary’s?  You may not be if:

·         You have moved away from your parental home.

·         You grew up here but are newly married and starting your own family.

·         You are living with your parents but are over 23 years of age.

·         You are not receiving contribution envelopes.

To register please fill out a registration form which can be found on the table at the main entrance of church.

Year-end: 2007 contribution statements will be mailed by January 31st.

 

Catherine Allen would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, and kindnesses while she was ill. She is much better now and back home.

X In less than a month (February 6th), Lent will begin.  Your plans for this Season might focus on: 

Ø      Prayer: Daily Mass, Stations of the Cross on the Fridays of Lent. 

Ø      Fasting: Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are the only days of required fast during Lent.

Ø      Almsgiving:  Rice Bowls will be available beginning Sunday, February 3rd. 

Almsgiving does not necessarily mean giving only money!

Food for the local food pantries will be collected the first Sunday of each month.  Basic food items such as: peanut butter, canned foods, cereals, instant meals (not everyone has a microwave), crackers, and personal hygiene items such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, and basic dish soap.

Youth Rally for Life will be on Friday, January 18th from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Statehouse, corner of Broad and High Streets. Although it is a “Youth Rally” for life, it is open to all ages. For more information contact Columbus Right to Life at 614-445-8508.

St. Ladislas Church on the southside of Columbus will celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2008.  They are in the process of collecting names and notifying past students, parishioners, teachers and religious affiliates to include in their parish directory to be distributed next year at the festivities.

12-U Summer Softball: A new summer softball program is currently seeking girls between the ages of 10-12 who are interested in playing softball this coming summer.  The team will play in four or five competitive local tournaments and will practice once a week.  Coaches include Bishop Hartley Head Coach, Meghan Rowlands; University of Kentucky student-athletes; Annie Rowlands and Kate Rowlands; and former Ohio State standout, Megan Schwab.
