BISHOP READY NEWS
Two parishioners
who are students at Bishop Ready High School were recently elected to the
school’s student council for the 2008-09 academic year. Junior David Martello
was elected as a homeroom representative and senior Katlyn Hall was elected as
a member of the Executive Leadership Committee. Parishioners Ashley Van Horn, a senior at Bishop Ready, and Sean
Lawler, a junior, were involved in the school’s fall theatre production of Our Town. We congratulate these fine
young people on their achievements and participation in Bishop Ready
activities!
VETERANS
On November 11 as we commemorate Veterans Day by
recalling the sacrifices of our service men and women, we are mindful of those
currently serving our country, both here and overseas. Praying for their safe
return to their friends and loved ones, we lift them up: Almighty God, we
commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed
forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace;
strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the
perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence
wherever they may be; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
