LIFE AWARENESS YOUTH LUNCHEON… sponsored by the Serra Club of North Columbus is scheduled for April 22nd at the Jessing Center on the Josephinum Campus.  All 8^th through 12^th grade girls are invited.  Sr. Gilmary, RSM, Director of Vocations for the Religious Sisters of Mercy, will reflect on the concept of vocation and the decision-making process. PONTIFICAL COLLEGE JOSEPHINUM and the DIOCESAN OFFICE OF VOCATIONS…will host a College Live-In for young men on April 16-18, 2009, who are juniors and seniors in high school and college students who are interested in knowing more about seminary life. The Live-In schedule will include a tour of the campus, discussions, meals and prayer with the college seminarians, attendance at classes, time for swimming and recreation. The CHRIST CHILD SOCIETY of COLUMBUS….welcomes all women to a morning of reflection on April 18^th at St. Patrick Church, 280 N. Grant Ave. from 8:00 a.m. to noon for an   “Extreme Makeover: Seeing Yourself through the Eyes of Jesus Christ” which will be presented by Catholic author and radio host Teresa Tomeo, who will share how the media and media influence have impacted her own life. ·    The Food for the Poor wishes to thank the St. Mary family for the welcome extended to Father Simoneau on his recent visit and for your generous donations for our less fortunate brothers and sisters of Latin America and the Caribbean.

·    Our St. Vincent DePaul collection last weekend netted $1,438.72. These funds will help serve those in need in our community. 

 

GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION…our parish will take up the annual Good Friday collection for the Holy Land. Please use the specially printed envelopes for your contribution to help support the struggling Christian community and to protect Christianity’s holiest places.

 

WOMEN’S RETREAT

The Columbus Diocesan Council of Catholic Women’s Annual Retreat for all women of the diocese will be held April 24, 25, 26 at St. Therese’s Retreat Center, 5277 E. Broad Street. The retreat director will be Sr. Jean Daugherty, T.O.R. of the Franciscan Sisters. The theme is “Come Follow Me”. The offering for the weekend is $100.00. A deposit of $50.00 will hold your room. ALL ARE WELCOME

On April 19, our Polish guests will celebrate Mass here at St. Mary’s at 3:00 p.m.  Following the Mass, there will be a brief concert by the Jennifer Day Trio of oboe, viola, and cello.  Music of Chopin and Mozart will be part of the concert.  Come, listen to some good music.  You are also welcome at the Mass at which Polish hymns are sung.  The Mass and concert will follow the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
