Are you interested in learning about the Catholic
faith? Are you looking into joining the Church? Are you a Catholic who
has been away for a while? Then the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA)
is for you. It begins with a cook-out on August 19th, at 6
p.m. on the back patio of Father’s house (to the right of the Church when
facing it from 3rd street). You can bring any support that you

We are so very blessed with talented students and
faculty members! Incredible things have taken place over these last few months.
Let me share some of those with you. Last Friday, at the Ohio State University
Agriculture day our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders
were pleased to be there to top off the studies about the farm. They also were
surprised to find out that three of our 5th graders were among 600
students who participated in an essay contest on How weather affects farming.
Madeleine McDonald placed 2nd, while Corey Hall and Juan Durano tied
for 6th place. Congratulations to these three young people for
representing us so well. Thanks to Mrs. Hollingshead for her work with the
students in getting these essays in the contest.
Our Cafeteria managers and our PE
teacher once again have received the Buckeye Best Healthy School Awards Program
Bronze Award. This award is given for “your efforts in developing school health
policies and program for the school year 2008-2009.” The areas involved in this
award include physical education, tobacco education and nutrition education.
Our school nurse, Angela Patterson, R.N. files the application for this award
each year.
VOCATIONS
The Benedictine monks of St. Andrew Abbey in Cleveland invite young men
between the ages of 18 – 45 years to participate in their summer “Living with
Benedict” monastic vocation discernment retreats to be held on the weekends of
June 5 – 7, 2009 and Aug. 14 – 16, 2009. Contact Fr. Gerard, OSB for additional
information at gerard@cbhs.net or

WOMEN’S RESPITE PROGRAM….Can you volunteer some of your
time? Volunteers are needed to help set-up, transport, serve meals, bake
cookies, or clean-up for the Women’s Respite Program to be held at the St.
Theresa’s Shrine from Tuesday, July 14, through Saturday, July 18. Any time that you can give throughout the day
or evening is needed. The Women’s
Respite Program is sponsored through the St. Stephen’s Community Center. The purpose of the program is to invite women
to come together in a safe place for a mini-vacation. Through the hospitality and efforts of
volunteers, each woman can have time to herself or with others and experience
creativity and spirituality that they cannot always enjoy in their everyday
lives. If you want to help or need more
information, please contact Debbie Pecinovsky at 868-8208 or at deblpec@sbcglobal.net .
