MARK your
CALENDARS
Are you interested in learning about the Catholic
faith? Are you looking into joining the Church? Are you a Catholic who
has been away for a while? Did you miss Confirmation? Then the Rite of
Christian Initiation (RCIA) is for you. It begins with a cook-out on August 19th, at 6:30 p.m. on
the back patio of Father’s house (to the right of the Church when facing it
from 3rd street). Bring friends if you wish. RCIA
sessions will be held each Wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m. Attending the
classes does not obligate you to entering the Church at Easter. We look forward
to seeing you in August.

OPPORTUNITIES
Confirmation will be celebrated for our young people here at 11:30

missed confirmation should contact Father Thomas about preparation for the
sacrament. The best way to contact Father is by way of a letter mailed to 672

collection basket. Please include your current address and phone number

BELLS of ST.
Thanks to the generosity of parishioners we have met our goal of $48,000 for the 2009-10 BAA campaign. Our goal for St. Mary’s is $150,000 a year
over a three (3) year period. 100%
of the monies collected over our BAA goal stay here at St. Mary. These monies
will be used for historic preservation of our buildings and tuition assistance
for those in need to attend our school. If you have not pledged or given to
this important campaign please prayerfully consider doing so. Campaign
cards and brochures are in the rear of the church near the picture of Pope
Benedict. If you already pledged, nothing further is required. We
appreciate your generosity.
WOMEN’S RESPITE PROGRAM….Can you volunteer some of your time? Volunteers are
needed to help set-up, transport, serve meals, bake cookies, or clean-up for
the Women’s Respite Program to be held at the St. Theresa’s Shrine from Tues., July 14, through Sat, July 18. Any time that you can give throughout the day
or evening is needed. The Women’s
Respite Program is sponsored through the St. Stephen’s Community Center. The purpose of the program is to invite women
to come together in a safe place for a mini-vacation. Through the hospitality and efforts of
volunteers, each woman can have time to herself or with others and experience
creativity and spirituality that they cannot always enjoy in their everyday
lives. If you want to help or need more information, please contact Debbie
Pecinovsky at 868-8208 or at deblpec@sbcglobal.net .
VOCATIONS
The Benedictine monks of St. Andrew Abbey
in Cleveland invite young men between the ages of 18 – 45 years to participate
in their summer “Living with Benedict” monastic vocation discernment retreats
to be held on the weekend of Aug. 14–16,
2009. Contact Fr. Gerard, OSB for additional information at gerard@cbhs.net or visit www.bocohio.org .
CAN YOU HELP?
We have a very faithful
group of bingo volunteers who give a few hours each month to help at that
important parish fundraiser. But we need more folks to help. Can
you come on one Sunday evening each
month to assist for a couple of hours? Call Father Thomas at
445-9668. The more folks we have, the less work for all.
