RCIA
UPDATE
Are you interested in learning about the Catholic
faith? Are you looking into joining the Church? Are you a Catholic who
has been away for a while? Did you miss Confirmation? Then the Rite of
Christian Initiation (RCIA) is for you. It begins with a cook-out on August 19th, at 6:30 p.m. on
the back patio of Father’s house (to the right of the Church when facing it
from 3rd street). Bring friends if you wish. RCIA
sessions will be held each Wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m. Attending the
classes does not obligate you to entering the Church at Easter.

BINGO
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Every Sunday dedicated volunteers work Bingo.
The monies raised from bingo help support our school and parish. This
past year, Bingo made $76,759.85. This is a 75% increase from the year before! This is by far our largest
fundraiser of the year. However, we are in need of more dedicated
volunteers to keep bingo running. The crowds are growing, but our
volunteers are not. We are in need of people to volunteer once a month on
a regular basis. There is no smoking in the gymnasium. Come and get
involved, meet new people, and help support your parish through your gift of
time. To get involved please call the parish office at 445-9668.

SENIOR CITIZEN DAY
The 32nd annual
diocesan Senior Citizen Day will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 7179 Avery
Road, Dublin. The day begins with mass at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Bishop
Frederick Campbell. Mass will be followed by lunch with the Bishop.
The cost is $15.00 per
person. Registration forms are available in the parish office or in the back of
church and must be submitted by August 13th. For additional

EDUCATION IMPROVES
LIVES-TUTORS NEEDED….The
Dominican Learning Center has a huge need for volunteer tutors in reading,
writing or mathematics at the Dominican Learning Center, housed at Corpus
Christi Church at 1111 E. Stewart Ave.
Our adult students want to earn GED equivalencies in order to get a job,
improve their lives, and help their children with school work. We are in need
of volunteers who can tutor ONE student,
ONE hour a week from September
through June. No teaching experience
is necessary. At a FREE Saturday morning Tutor Training
Workshop, you will learn the skills and receive the materials needed to
successfully tutor in this ONE-TO-ONE environment.
Students are tested before being assigned and books are provided. Sr. Shawn Fitzpatrick, Director of the
Dominican Learning Center, welcomes your call at (614) 444-7330.

down, work at one of the booths, or just volunteer wherever you are most needed.

HEALING CRUSADE at ST. PETER
The Jesus and Mary Prayer Group of St. Peter will host Robert Canton,
a lay person from Stockton, CA, with spiritual gifts of healing and teaching.
The Healing Service on Friday, July 31,
will be preceded by Praise and Worship at 6:30 p.m. and Mass at 7:00 p.m.
Teaching and healing sessions will be offered on Sat., Aug. 1, from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Mr. Canton is a Council member of the
Vatican-based International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services, representing
English-speaking North America, Central America and the Caribbean. This event is sponsored by the Catholic
Charismatic Renewal. For additional

HOMECOMING REUNION
The St.
Mary’s High School Class of 1959 will celebrate their 50th
reunion on Fri. – Sat. Aug. 14 – 15. We will gather for dinner at
Oakhurst Country Club in Grove City on Aug. 14 at 7:00 p.m. and again the next
day for the 4:00 p.m. mass at St. Mary.

GREATER COLUMUBS RIGHT to LIFE will hold their 2nd Annual Steps for Life on Sat., August 1, at 9:30 a.m. at Smith
Park in Delaware. Crossroads, a
group of students who spend their summer walking across the country as a
witness to the sanctity of human life, will be there. In addition to the
walk (on a stroller and wheelchair-friendly path), there will be a picnic lunch
and activities for the children. Advance registration is preferred,
