RCIA
UPDATE
Are you interested in learning about the Catholic
faith? Are you looking into joining the Church? Are you a Catholic who
has been away for a while? Did you miss Confirmation? Then the Rite of
Christian Initiation (RCIA) is for you. It begins with a cook-out on August 19th, at 6:30 p.m. on
the back patio of Father’s house (to the right of the Church when facing it
from 3rd street). Bring friends if you wish. RCIA
sessions will be held each Wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m. Attending the
classes does not obligate you to entering the Church at Easter.
We look forward to seeing you in August.
BINGO
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Every Sunday dedicated volunteers work Bingo.
The monies raised from bingo help support our school and parish. This
past year, Bingo made $76,759.85. This is a 75% increase from the year before! This is by far our largest
fundraiser of the year. However, we are in need of more dedicated
volunteers to keep bingo running. The crowds are growing, but our
volunteers are not. We are in need of people to volunteer once a month on
a regular basis. There is no smoking in the gymnasium. Come and get
involved, meet new people, and help support your parish through your gift of
time. To get involved please call the parish office at 445-9668.

AN INVITATION FROM ST. JOSEPH CATHEDRAL
In commemoration of The Year of the Priest, as has been proclaimed by His Holiness Pope
Benedict XVI, Saint John Vianney, Universal
Patron of Priests, will be honored Saturday, August 1st, through his feast day, Tuesday, August 4th, at St. Joseph Cathedral.
All members of our Diocese are welcome to join us in this beautiful celebration
after every mass when the Holy Relic of the beloved Saint will be exposed on
the altar of the Terce Chapel for
veneration and private prayer.
Dear Lord, we pray that the Blessed
Mother wrap her mantle around her priests and through her intercession
strengthen them for their ministry. We pray that Mary will guide your priests
to follow her own words, “Do whatever he tells you” (John 2:5). May your priests
have the heart of St. Joseph, Mary’s most chaste spouse. May the Blessed
Mother’s own pierced heart inspire them to embrace all who suffer at the foot
of the cross. May your priests be holy, filled with the fire of your love
seeking nothing but your greater glory and the salvation of souls. Amen.
