THEOLOGY
In our Catholic lives, we are asked
to go on pilgrimages. Yet, typically, we put off making a pilgrimage until our
50's, 60's, and 70's because pilgrimages are no fun. However, what if there was a pilgrimage that
did not resemble a pilgrimage? Join Theology and a Pub on Sept. 9th in its' new location at Claddagh Pub at 8745 Sancus Blvd.
at 7 p.m. for a talk with Father Larry Rice on his upcoming pilgrimage to
Camino next March. The admission is free and the doors open at
BREAKFAST with the

featuring Bishop Frederick F. Campbell, will be held at 7:45 a.m. promptly on Fri., Sept.18, 2009, in the Regency
Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency, 350 North High Street. This year, Bishop
Campbell will provide a faith perspective on the economy. He will be joined by
Don Wisler, president and CEO of Catholic Social Services. All proceeds from
the event will go to support the programs of Catholic Social Services.

The office will be closed on Labor Day, Monday,
Sept. 7th. Normal hours will
resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8th. Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.
LABOR
As
our US Bishops wrote in their document, A Jubilee for Workers: Challenges and Opportunities for the New
Millennium: “It is worth remembering
on Labor Day… that a person is more valuable for what she or he is than for
what they have, for the work they do rather than for what they possess. We must
join together… to build a society that respects each person and their work.”
The Marriage and Family Life Office encourages you to talk with your children
about how work gives witness to our faith, how each of us can make the world a
better place by who we are and what we do, and how all that we do can manifest
the love of God. Spend some time reflecting on how you bring holiness and
wholeness to the work you do.
Lord, let our work be a source of joy to our family and a song of
praise to you. Amen.
CELTIC VOYAGES at ST. LEO
The singers of the Magpie Consort return to St. Leo

recently honored our own Bill Lenkey for his years of volunteer work. The
insurance company noted that Bill has dedicated over 20 years to volunteerism,
lending invaluable help to organizations such as Children's Hunger Alliance,
St. Mary's and the German Village Society." When asked why he
volunteers, the GVS charter member said, "I'm happy just to have the
pleasure of knowing that my work helps others."
