ADVENT MORNING OF REFLECTION
The Church teaches that all Christians, in
any state or walk of life, are called to holiness. But what does holiness look
like in this time and place? How do we find the paths to holiness that are
well-suited to the particular contexts of our daily lives? Come away for a
spell to reflect on these important questions as a means of preparing for the
coming of Christ anew in our hearts this Advent season. This reflection period
is scheduled for Fri., Dec. 4th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s
Bryce Eck Activity Center. The facilitator is Fr. Timothy Hayes, pastor of St. Timothy. The cost is
$10.oo, which includes lunch. Registration is due to the Office of
Ministry Formation (197 E. Gay St., Columbus, OH 43215) by Monday,
Nov. 30, 2009. For more information, contact Jean Morris,
admn. assistant at 614-241-2544 or jmorris@colsdioc.org. An online printable registration form is
available on the Office of Ministry Formation website: www.colsdioc.org.

The Benedictine Monks of St. Andrew Abbey in
Cleveland welcome men between the ages of 18-45 who wish to discern a monastic
vocation to attend “Living with Benedict” weekend retreats scheduled for Nov. 27-29, 2009 and
Feb.
12-14, 2010. For more information contact Fr. Gerard, OSB at gerard@cbhs.net
HELP NEEDED
Father Thomas could use some adult help with Youth
Group activities during the coming season of Advent. The parish has very
capable and well trained college students to chaperone, but he prefers to also
have an older person or two at activities he cannot personally oversee.
The Advent season involves a lot of penance services at which Father is scheduled
to help and youth events are typically held on Sunday. Please contact the
parish office at 445.9668 if you are interested. Chaperones are required
to pass a background check, which consists of getting fingerprinted.
