RCIA – 2009 – 2010

The topic for this week is “The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony and the Catholic Family and sexual ethics” presented by Jason and Melissa Shanks. RCIA sessions are held in the Atrium every Wed, at 7:00 p.m.  Sessions are open t0 anyone interested in learning more about your faith. All are welcome!

LIVING WITH BENEDICT RETREATS

The MARRIAGE and FAMILY LIFE OFFICE…is offering an eight-week workshop for individuals going through the divorce process. The series will begin on Thur., January 28, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Catholic Center, 197 E. Gay Street. The registration fee is $40.00; financial assistance is available. MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE OFFICE

Take a new look at intimacy by enrolling in an  Natural Family Planning workshop, offered through the Marriage and Family Life Office and hosted by St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Westerville.  The five-session workshop begins Wednesday evening, January 13, 2010, 7 - 9 pm, and continues on January 27, February 10, March 10, and April 14.  The registration is only $60 per couple and includes all instructional materials; financial assistance is available.  For more information or to register for the workshop, contact the Marriage and Family Life Office at (614)241-2560 or FLOMailbox@colsdioc.org

Collections are down by 6.5% from this time last year and last year’s offertory was down 7% from 2007. Please prayerfully consider regularly contributing to St. Mary’s!

RESPECT LIFE MASS-DAY OF PENANCE & PRAYER

At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010, Bishop Campbell will celebrate mass at St. Joseph Cathedral in observance of the “day of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion, and of prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life”. This day of penance and prayer falls on the anniversary of the January 22, 1973, U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade. All are invited to attend. ATTENTION VETERANS

The Greater Columbus Post of the Catholic Veterans will meet Tuesday, January 5th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peters, located on Smokey Row Blvd, near Snouffer Road.
